In accordance with Colonial Regulation No.265 I have

the honour to request your covering approval of the

supplementary expenditure of $544,900 under Head 34, Public

Works Extraordinary, to meet the cost of erecting the

following camps for Chinese refugees:-

Camp at Mía Tau Chung Road, Kowloon

Camp at King's Park, Kowloon

Camp at North Point, Hong Kong

Particulars of the general layout and accommodation

value of these camps are enclosed for your information. In

view of the need for early action in this matter the consent

of the Finance Committee has been obtained in anticipation of

your approval.
